Summer is still going strong and what better meal is there for a warm summer night than burgers on the BBQ! This easy burger is perfect with some home fries and a salad. Enjoy!
1 can of black beans
1/2 cup (125ml) roasted red peppers
1/2 cup (125ml) unsalted roasted peanuts
1 cup (250ml) roasted walnuts
1 cup (250ml) of bread crumbs
2 tbsp. (30ml) soy sauce
3 garlic cloves, finely minced
1 tsp. (5ml) ground cumin
1 tsp (5ml) sweet paprika
1/4 cup (60ml) of water
1/4 cup (60ml) of store bought vegan BBQ sauce
1 tbsp. (15ml) additional water
In the food processor, grind all the ingredients together to form a homogeneous paste, without becoming too smooth. Form 4 large patties and mix the BBQ sauce with the additional water, then baste the patties on both sides. On hot BBQ, add more sauce on each side of the patties. Slightly decrease the temperature of the BBQ to continue cooking for about 10 minutes.
Serve with homemade mayonnaise with pesto, lettuce, tomatoes, and your favorite condiments.
